  • The Road to Healing Begins Here

I help people heal their wounds and become their wonderful, authentic selves.

Providing a flexible schedule and over 25 years of helping individuals, couples and families – in person and online.

“You are not broken. You are deeply wounded.” – Linda Herrin

Maybe it isn’t true that no two snowflakes are alike, although I’ve read than no two large snowflakes are alike. I know this for sure: no two humans are alike and most all of them are both incredibly complicated and beautiful.  Just like snowflakes that are formed by the countless variations in weather conditions so humans are shaped by their DNA, events that occur in their mother’s womb, and the families, societies and cultures they grow up in. Each brings their own form of suffering to the therapy room.

For this very reason counselors need to be flexible in working with each client. And yet, as neuroscience is discovering, there are some counseling approaches that are proving to be helpful to nearly all of us, clients and counselors alike: things like learning to live in the present moment and training our brains to be mindful of what is going on in our thoughts and emotions so we can make changes.  These are things I teach my clients because I want them to learn how to manage their own lives. Who needs a therapist forever, right?

After decades of helping people, I am comfortable in my “counselor skin” and I am more passionate than ever about helping the broad array of clients who come to see me. I would be honored to work with you. The buttons below show some of the areas I specialize in and you can also look under “specialties” at the top of the page to learn more and to read the latest blogs and news.

    About Linda Herrin

Many decades ago as a single mother I was selling insurance to support myself and my three young children. I hated the selling but loved the interpersonal connections I was making. When I got to know my clients I often found them sharing their personal stories with me. These clients would often say to me, “Why are you selling insurance? You should be a counselor. Thanks for your insights.” I tucked that thought away until ten years later I got accepted into a Master’s program in counseling psychology. The day I graduated was a dream come true! In one way or another I have been counseling ever since, sometimes in private practice, for many years  leading groups for the chronically and terminally ill and their caregivers; and most recently helping people through the loss and grief after the death of a loved one or caused by divorce. For me working with people going through difficult times is a way of life and an intrinsic part of who I am.
